In other fire news, “The Senator” burned down. The 118-foot-tall cypress tree in Longwood, Florida, is estimated to be 3,500 years old, which made it the world’s fifth oldest tree. It burned from the inside out, like a chimney. And then it collapsed. Really sad. Elizabeth, I hope you will write something poignant and poetic about a childhood field trip to this historic tree.
